#0522 spans an open center with two horizontal bars, joined by a molten swell at the front where the metal gathers.

The two bars cross the open center and meet at the swell, where the metal gathers thickest. Both keep an uneven, rippling surface that draws the light toward the front.

The open span keeps the ring light, while the molten swell holds it together. Over time the hollows of the swell darken a little at a time.
